The government has decided to keep all CNG filling stations open for 24 hours to keep the traffic movement normal and seamless across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
This initiative has been taken to reduce public suffering during the Eid journey and avoid a transportation crisis.
Recently, the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources has sent instructions in this regard to the chairman of Petrobangla.
According to the directive, all CNG filling stations in the country will be kept round-the-clock in operation from May 21 to June 2. This measure has been taken to keep the fuel supply normal considering that the pressure of passenger vehicles on highways and regional roads will increase.
According to the government’s decision, CNG stations will remain open day and night for the seven days before and the next five days, including the day of Eid. Drivers of long-distance vehicles and private transport are expected to take fuel at any time.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the government has declared a seven-day public holiday. Government and semi-government offices will be closed from May 25th to June 1st. However, it has been decided to keep government offices open on 23rd and 24th May to keep administrative activities active before the holiday.
On the other hand, the authorities concerned have planned to give a phased leave to keep the production and export activities of the readymade garment industry active. According to the concerned quarters, various coordinated steps of the government will play an important role in making this Eid journey comfortable.
