A fire broke out at a foam factory adjacent to Saddam Market in the capital’s Kadamtali area. Five firefighting units are working to control the fire.
The fire service and civil defence rushed to the spot and resumed rescue operations on Friday evening.
According to the fire service control room, alert was issued quickly in the surrounding area after the fire and the units began working to prevent the spread of the fire.
The cause of the fire or the extent of the damage could not be ascertained. No casualties have been reported so far.
Firefighters as well as locals are assisting in controlling the fire. The cause of the incident will be known after the investigation is brought under control.
