The United States and Iran are on the verge of an agreement to end the war. Sources said a peace agreement could be reached soon in Pakistan.
According to a Pakistani diplomatic source, the two countries almost agreed to a one-page memorandum of understanding (MoU) to resolve the conflict in the Gulf. The source said, “We are very close, it can be completed soon.”
According to a report in Axios, the White House believes Washington is close to an agreement to end the war with Iran. The report was accompanied by two U.S. officials and several sources.
Earlier, Donald Trump temporarily suspended the ongoing “Project Freedom” campaign in the Hormuz Strait, which is seen as an indication of the progress of the talks.
The United States expects Iran’s response to some important issues within the next 48 hours. Under the terms of the possible deal, Iran could suspend nuclear enrichment, while the United States could ease or lift sanctions on Iran.
In addition, a portion of the seized Iranian funds is in talks to relax restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
