The government has made a huge change in the Bangladesh police at various levels. A total of 39 officers, including the appointment of new superintendent of police (SP), have been transferred to 12 districts.
This information was given in two separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday.
According to the notification, new SPs have been appointed in Panchagarh, Bandarban, Jaipurhat, Pabna, Nilphamari, Narail, Satkhira, Chandpur, Jhalakathi, Moulvibazar, Chittagong and Feni districts. At the same time, several important posts have been changed in different units, DMP, CID, SB, naval police and tourist police.
The officers on the list include the district superintendent of police, the deputy police commissioner (DC), additional police commissioner and DIG rank officials. Some have been given new charges after promotion, while others have been reorganized for administrative needs.
Besides, changes have also been made to the DIG level in important units including Sylhet Range, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and other important units. New responsibilities have also been distributed to the top posts of CID and DMP.
The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the reshuffle has been made in the public interest and the order will come into effect immediately.
