Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has greeted the people on the occasion of Bengali New Year 1433. He described the New Year as a symbol of Bengali cultural heritage and ethnic identity.
In the New Year’s message, he said that Pahela Boishakh is not only a festival, it inspires people to start a new one. This is an opportunity to leave the fatigue and failure of the past behind.
He said that the human relationship with the agricultural economy and nature is deeply connected to the Bengali New Year tradition. This festival combines rural life and urban culture.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that the Boishakhi festival and folk culture strengthens the social unity of Bangladesh and brings multidimensional culture to the forefront.
Highlighting various development initiatives of the government, she said the programmes taken in the social security and agricultural sector are contributing to improving the quality of life of the people and will be expanded further in the future.
He said that peace, tolerance and mutual respect are essential in the current global context. New Year’s teaching is to rise above the level of harm and work for the welfare of mankind.
Finally, he conveyed his New Year’s greetings to the countrymen and said that the New Year will bring a message of prosperity, peace and development in everyone’s life.
