Forty-eight teams of the FIFA World Cup 2026 have been confirmed after the qualifiers and the play-offs across the continent. The full schedule of the World Cup and twelve groups were released on Wednesday (April 1st) after the game for the last six tickets.
The World Cup will be held jointly in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11th. This is the first edition of the World Cup history to divide 48 teams into twelve groups. The tournament will run until July 19th.
Although the draw was held in December, the issue of six places was not decided at the time. At the end of the European play-offs, Sweden, Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Czech Republic took place in the main stage. Iraq also secured the final ticket by defeating Bolivia 2-1 in the intercontinental play-offs. D.R. Congo also confirmed the participation at the last minute.
