Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that despite the reality of limited resources, it is possible to build a self-reliant and desired Bangladesh through coordinated initiatives and national unity.
He made this call at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of the great Independence and National Day.
Speaking at a function held at the Engineers Institution auditorium in the capital, the Prime Minister said that the development of the nation is not just for one group; rather, it must be achieved by including the entire society. “We will all be well—that should be the pledge of Independence Day,” she added.
Referring to the history of Bangladesh’s independence struggle, the Prime Minister said that research and discussion on this history should continue, but it should not diminish the established truth. She mentioned that while there have been different assessments in the past about Ziaur Rahman’s role in the context of the Liberation War, it is important to present history accurately.
The meeting was attended by political leaders, professional representatives, and people from different walks of life. The speakers emphasized unity in strengthening the country’s development and democratic practices.
