Israel claims killing of two top Iranian security officials

International Desk »

  • Israel has claimed that two key figures in Iran’s national security structure have been killed. Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement on Tuesday that Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, was killed in a targeted attack.

At the same time, the Israeli military claimed that Gholamreza Soleimani, the head of the Basij Force, a paramilitary organization under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was also killed in a separate strike. According to their statement, Soleimani lost his life in the operation on Monday night.

However, there has been no official response from Iran to these claims, making independent verification of the information difficult.

Israeli officials say the strikes are part of an effort to increase strategic pressure on Iran’s military leadership, especially since the death of the head of the Basij Force could have a significant impact on the country’s military command and control system.

In the same statement, Israel said its operations targeting Iran’s military leadership would continue.

There have been reports of a series of attacks on Iran’s top political and military leadership since the regional conflict began on February 28. Earlier, there were claims that several senior commanders, including the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had been killed, although many of these reports could not be independently confirmed.

According to analysts, determining the true picture of the conflict is becoming increasingly complex due to conflicting claims from both sides and limited information flow.
