Several powerful explosions in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, have sent plumes of smoke into the central sky. The smoke from the explosions has spread across the city, reaching areas near the Burj Al Arab hotel.
The Guardian reported, citing AFP news agency, that multiple loud explosions shook buildings in Dubai on Friday morning. After the explosions, a large column of smoke was seen in the sky over the city center.
The Associated Press reported that flames could be seen in Dubai’s Al Quoz industrial area, with crowds gathering in the surrounding area to watch the incident.
Meanwhile, the Dubai government’s media department said in a statement on social media that after intercepting a target in the sky, its debris fell in front of a building in the city, causing minor damage.
