Fox News host Brian Kilmeade was quoted as saying that Trump told him he was “not happy” with the decision to select Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran’s supreme leader. However, Trump has not yet made any official public comment on the matter.
The Israeli media outlet The Times of Israel reported that Trump declined to comment directly when asked about Iran’s new leadership in an interview. His statement was, “We’ll see what happens.”
In the same interview, Trump said that discussions are underway between the United States and Israel regarding the ongoing war situation surrounding Iran. He noted that a decision on stopping the war or the next steps will be made based on mutual understanding with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump also demanded that Israeli President Isaac Herzog consider pardoning Netanyahu in the ongoing corruption case so that he can fully focus on the war situation.
