Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairman Tarique Rahman for his victory in the 13th National Parliament elections .
In a congratulatory message, he welcomed the BNP’s success in the recently held elections and highlighted the importance of Qatar’s long-standing close relations with Bangladesh. The message expressed hope for further strengthening ties in labor cooperation, energy partnership and bilateral trade.
Analysts see this congratulatory message as diplomatically significant in the context of the large number of Bangladeshi expatriate workers living in Qatar, whose remittances make a significant contribution to Bangladesh’s economy.
