200 international observers will be on the ground across the country from Tuesday to observe the upcoming parliamentary elections and referendum. These observers, who come from the 27 member states of the European Union as well as Canada, Norway and Switzerland, will participate in the vote observation with full preparation.
The European Union Election Observation Mission Bangladesh 2026 said in a statement on Monday that short-term observers are being trained in Dhaka to observe the voting, counting and results preparation processes on election day. They will be deployed across the country from Tuesday.
Mission sources said 90 short-term observers from Europe have been joined by 35 more observers from EU diplomatic missions and partner countries. A core team of 11 analysts has been working since December and 56 long-term observers have been working in 64 districts since mid-January.
