The prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and autogas at the consumer level have been further increased since the beginning of February. According to the new decision, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has been increased by Tk 50 to Tk 1,356.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the price hike on Monday, which came into effect from 6 pm. Commission chairman Jalal Ahmed said the adjustment for February has been made considering the international market situation.
At the same time, the price of autogas has also been increased. At the consumer level, the price per liter has been increased by Tk 2.34 to Tk 62.14 including VAT.
LPG and autogas prices were adjusted earlier in January. Concerned parties fear that this continuous price hike will further increase the cost pressure on consumers.
