BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the grave of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr killed in police firing during the anti-discrimination student movement. He visited the grave of Abu Sayeed at his village home in Pirganj on his way to Rangpur on Friday evening.
After visiting the grave, Tarique Rahman spoke to the family members of martyr Abu Sayeed and expressed deep respect for his sacrifice and courage. Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family, he inquired about them and consoled them. At this time, martyr Abu Sayeed’s father Maqbul Hossain demanded justice for the murder of his son.
Earlier, Tarique Rahman addressed various road rallies on his way from Bogra to Rangpur as part of BNP’s election campaign for the 13th National Parliament election. After visiting the graves, he joined a divisional public meeting organized by BNP at the Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah ground.
It is worth noting that Abu Sayeed was shot dead by police during an anti-discrimination student movement in front of Begum Rokeya University on July 16, 2024. He was a student of the university’s English department and one of the coordinators of the movement.
