Ahead of the 13th National Assembly elections, 40 officers with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police were promoted to Additional Superintendent of Police during the last term of the interim government.
The Home Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Thursday. The promotion comes just two weeks before the election.
The notification has directed the promoted officers to submit their joining letters to the Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry.
