The Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh met with BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman at the BNP’s Gulshan office on Saturday evening (January 10).
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and party standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, along with other top leaders, were present at the meeting. However, the BNP did not officially announce the topics discussed at the meeting.
Earlier on the same day, Dr. Evers Ijabs, Member of the European Parliament and Chief Observer of the EU Election Observation Mission, paid a courtesy call on Tarique Rahman. After the meeting that lasted about an hour, the EU observation team left the office at around 4 pm.
Besides, Pakistan High Commissioner to Dhaka Imran Haider also met with Tarique Rahman on Friday (January 9) afternoon. It is learnt that various bilateral issues were discussed in the meeting that lasted about half an hour.
