BNP has taken overall responsibility for the family of Azizur Rahman Musabbir, former leader of Dhaka Metropolitan North Volunteer Party. Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the party’s standing committee, said this after visiting the house of deceased Musabbir on Friday afternoon and meeting the family members and offering condolences.
He said that BNP will shoulder all the necessary responsibilities for Musabbir’s wife and children for the rest of his life. At the same time, he alleged that Musabbir was killed as part of a planned conspiracy by anti-election forces. He commented that those who do not want democracy and elections may be involved in this murder.
Demanding a fair, impartial and credible investigation into the killings, Salahuddin Ahmed said those involved in the incident must be identified and given exemplary punishment. He urged the interim government and law enforcement agencies to take proactive and strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Stating that the people will thwart any conspiracy to sabotage the election, the BNP leader said that the democratic process cannot be stopped by violence from evil forces.
It is worth mentioning that Azizur Rahman Musabbir was shot dead by miscreants in the West Tejturi Bazar area of the capital last Wednesday night. He was taken to BRB Hospital in his injured condition, where doctors declared him dead.
