Four people were killed and at least 10-12 others injured when a passenger bus caught fire after losing control on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The accident occurred in the Baniapara area of Daudkandi upazila of Comilla around 1:15 pm on Friday. The deceased included two children, a woman and a man. Their identities were not immediately known.
Police said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-Chittagong-bound bus hit a motorcycle moving in the same lane, causing the bus to catch fire. Several passengers, including the motorcycle driver, lost their lives.
Upon receiving the information, the fire service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Police said that traffic on the highway is normal after the accident.
