Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban have officially ended their 20-year marriage. A court in Nashville, Tennessee, issued a final divorce decree on Tuesday, leaving the two world-famous stars legally single.
According to court documents, Kidman filed for divorce in September of last year. Before the separation, the couple reached an amicable agreement on the division of property and custody of their children. Both parties have withdrawn their claims for alimony and divided the joint property almost equally.
The couple have two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. Under the agreement, Kidman will be the primary guardian of the children and the girls will primarily live with her. However, Keith Urban will spend time with the children regularly.
The Australian couple met in 2005 and married in Sydney in 2006. During their two decades of marriage, they became the epitome of the ideal star couple on the world stage. Although the news of the separation came as a surprise to fans, Kidman said she was moving forward by spending time with her children at the start of the new year.
