Cold wave conditions continue to prevail in various parts of the country. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that a mild cold wave is currently blowing over 9 districts of the country and it may persist for some more days.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman’s forecast on Saturday (January 3) said that a mild cold wave is blowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Jessore, Chuadanga and Kushtia districts.
The forecast says that the weather is likely to remain dry with partly cloudy skies across the country for the next few days. There is a possibility of moderate to dense fog in many parts of the country from midnight to morning, which may persist in some places till noon. Due to dense fog, air traffic, inland waterways and road communication may be temporarily disrupted.
The Meteorological Department has said that although the night and day temperatures across the country are mostly unchanged, temperatures may drop slightly in some areas from the middle of next week. There is a risk of increasing fog density, especially in river basins.
The Meteorological Office said that the effects of the ongoing cold wave may continue for the next few days. In this situation, it has been urged to take necessary precautions and preparations to avoid winter-related suffering.
