Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is coming to Dhaka as a representative of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay his last respects to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The Indian government announced this decision on Tuesday (December 30).
Sources said that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will also arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday to attend Khaleda Zia’s funeral. In addition, the Foreign Minister of Bhutan and a minister from Maldives are scheduled to visit Dhaka. Necessary preparations have been made for the arrival of international delegates.
It is worth noting that three-time former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at 6 am on Tuesday after being under treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital for 40 days. She was 80 years old at the time of her death.
