Motaleb Sikder, the Khulna divisional head of the National Citizens Party (NCP) and the central organizer of the workers’ power, was shot in public in Khulna.
He was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition with a bullet wound to the head.
The attack took place in the city’s Sonadanga area around 12:15 pm on Monday (December 22). NCP Joint Chief Organizer Dr. Mahmuda Mitu confirmed the matter in a post on social media.
The cause of the attack and the identities of those involved were not immediately known. Police said an investigation into the incident is underway and work has begun to identify those responsible.
