Police have stopped the ‘March to Indian High Commission’ program announced by July Unity in the capital midway. On Wednesday afternoon, traffic was blocked on Pragati Sarani for a long time due to the program.
The procession started from Rampura Bridge at around 3:30 pm. After about half an hour, police barricaded the procession in the Hossain Market area of Badda and blocked its progress. Unable to move forward, the protesters took up positions on the road.
At that time, they raised slogans protesting India’s alleged aggression, demanded the return of Sheikh Hasina, accused in the July assassination, and called for the immediate arrest of those involved in the attack on Inqilab Manch spokesman Sharif Osman Hadi.
Due to police barricades and presence on the road, traffic on Pragati Sarani was practically paralyzed from 3 pm, causing inconvenience to the common people.
