Two-year-old Sajid, who lost his life in a deep tube well in Tanor, Rajshahi, was buried on Friday morning. Since the morning, the atmosphere of mourning descended in the village of Koelhat Eastpara; work stopped all over the village, people rushed to Sajid’s house.
Thousands of people gathered in the field near the graveyard. When the baby’s white cuffs are brought in, there is a roll of tears all around. The environment becomes heavy with the help of parents. Imam Kazi Maulana Mizanur Rahman conducted the funeral and prayed for the forgiveness of the child Sajid.
At the end of the funeral, when the small coffin was taken to the graveyard, the entire area was quiet — only the cry of the relatives. In the words of the people of the village, “They have never seen such a crowd of people in such a small funeral.”
Sajid went missing after falling into a deep tube well near his house on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
