Doctor Dhandeb Chandra Barman, who was involved in a heated exchange with the Director General (DG) of the Department of Health during an inspection at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, has been pardoned and reinstated.
An order issued by the hospital authorities on Wednesday said that he was reinstated to his previous duties after reviewing the response to the show cause notice and written apology.
When he visited the hospital on December 6, the behavior of Resident Surgeon (Casualty) and Assistant Professor Dhandeb Barman was termed as ‘discourteous’ and he was reprimanded and removed from the post of Casualty OT in-charge.
He later expressed his regret in writing and promised not to behave like this in the future. When the Health Department considered his response satisfactory, he was ordered to return to his previous position.
The hospital’s assistant director (administration) Mainuddin Khan confirmed that the order has been effective since Wednesday and Dr. Dhandeb has returned to work.
