BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman arrived in Dhaka on Friday morning to accompany her on her London trip. After arriving at Shahjalal International Airport at 10:43 am, she went straight to Evercare Hospital, where Khaleda Zia is currently undergoing treatment.
He was welcomed at the airport by UK-based doctor Richard Bailey, family members, and BNP leaders.
However, Khaleda Zia’s London trip has been delayed by at least a day as the special air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar did not arrive in Dhaka today. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the plane did not arrive on Friday due to a technical fault; if everything goes well, it may arrive on Saturday.
He said, “If Madam’s physical condition is suitable and the medical board approves, she will leave for London on the 7th.”
Doctors said Khaleda Zia is under close observation in the CCU. Earlier in January this year, she was taken to London in an air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar, where she returned to the country after four months of treatment.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who has been in London for a long time, returned to the country for a short time last June and then returned to London.
