UK specialist doctor Professor Richard Billy arrived at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka around 10:30 am on Wednesday to assist in the treatment of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Dr. Al Mamun confirmed his arrival.
Members of the medical board formed to treat Khaleda Zia are already monitoring her physical condition. Earlier, her personal physician, Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, said that several countries, including the United States, China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and India, have offered medical assistance.
Dr. Zahid said that the UK expert team will review Khaleda Zia’s current medical treatment. If necessary, the issue of taking her abroad will be considered, but at the moment, that opportunity is limited due to her physical condition.
He added, “By the grace of God, he is able to receive treatment and all procedures are underway as per the advice of the medical board.
