The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartik (RAJUK) has sealed 12 restaurants, salons and spas in a drive to crack down on illegal commercial activities in the capital’s Banani. The mobile court, which was conducted in the area of Zone 4/2 from Tuesday morning to afternoon, was led by Executive Magistrate Belayet Hossain.
During the raid, 22 offices in seven more buildings pledged to close within the next month. In addition, the electricity connection of a building under construction was disconnected and the meter was seized.
The executive magistrate of RAJUK said, “Such operations will be further strengthened to protect the residential environment of Banani and control unauthorized businesses.”
The list of establishments that have been sealed includes
Turkish Kebab and Restaurant, Bhai Bhai Restaurant, Shakeel Motors, four units of Bibidhara Restaurant, Men’s Club, London Salon and Gents Parlour, Aheli Kebab and Chinese, Peshwari Tailor Shop and Tea Shop, Salam’s Kitchen, Khichuri Wala and Coffee Fix.
Members of law enforcement agencies, including authorized officers of RAJUK, building inspectors, and others participated in the operation.
