Three sisters of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan—Aleema, Dr. Uzma, and Nowrin—have been arrested by police and transferred to Chakri.
According to local sources, the sisters began a sit-in protest after authorities denied them permission to meet Imran Khan and other family members at Adiala Jail on the scheduled day. Pakistan-based media Express Tribune reported that despite multiple discussions with police, Aleema refused to end the sit-in and insisted on scheduling a meeting with Imran Khan.
Around midnight, a female police unit took the sisters into custody and transported them in a police van to Chakri. Following this, the 10-hour-long sit-in ended, and the remaining protesters dispersed peacefully.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party claimed on social media that the sisters were sitting peacefully outside Adiala Jail when the police forcibly detained them.
