Renowned filmmaker Amitabh Reza is set to tie the knot once again. Currently residing in New York for the past few months, the director will complete his marriage formalities on Friday morning (local time). The bride, Mushfika Masud, is a screenwriter and filmmaker.
Posting a photo of the couple on Facebook, Amitabh wrote, “Sometimes a companion, sometimes a comrade, but I never thought I’d spend my life with someone more mischievous than me.” Many from the entertainment industry congratulated the couple in the comments.
Speaking to Prothom Alo, Mushfika said, “Amitabh is a wonderful person—brilliant and an outstanding filmmaker. The way he loves is unbelievable. His love taught me how to love.” On her Facebook profile, she also wrote, “Only one person resides in the depths of my soul—and that’s you.” Responding to the same post, Amitabh commented, “You are my beauty, my life,” to which Mushfika replied, “And you are my Wong Kar-wai.”
According to available information, Mushfika completed her bachelor’s degree in Law from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK. She later studied Post-Production at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema in New York and also pursued Film Production at Brooklyn College. Her short film The Anniversary won a $10,000 prize at a U.S. film festival.
This is Amitabh Reza’s third marriage. He was previously married to actors Nowrin Hasan Khan Jenny and Mim Rashid. Both marriages eventually ended in separation.
