Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, has visited the Dhanmondi Thana Election Office to become a voter of Dhaka-10 parliamentary constituency.
On Sunday (November 9) at around 3:50 PM, he appeared at the Dhanmondi Thana Election Office on Green Road in the capital and submitted an application for voter transfer.
The Dhaka-10 constituency consists of Dhanmondi, New Market, Kalabagan, and Hazaribagh thanas.
So far, the BNP has not yet announced any candidate for this seat, while Jamaat-e-Islami has nominated Supreme Court lawyer Jasim Uddin Sarkar as its candidate.
It has been reported that Asif Mahmud is currently a voter of the Cumilla-3 constituency, and it is being speculated that he may contest the upcoming election from Dhaka-10 as a candidate of a political party through seat-sharing arrangements.
According to the latest data from the Dhanmondi Thana Election Office, the total number of voters in Dhaka-10 constituency is 387,238.
