The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast that stormy winds with speeds up to 80 kilometers per hour may occur in six districts by noon. In this situation, the river ports in the affected areas have been instructed to hoist cautionary signal No. 2.
According to the weather bulletin issued for inland river ports from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar regions may experience temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the south/southeast at speeds of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour.
For this reason, the river ports in these areas have been advised to remain alert and display cautionary signal No. 2.
