The BNP has finalized candidates for 237 seats in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections. The announcement was made on Monday evening at a press conference in Gulshan by the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
However, Barrister Rumin Farhana, co-Secretary for International Affairs of the BNP Central Executive Committee, was not included in the preliminary list. Out of the six constituencies in her area, the party has announced candidates in four. Brahmanbaria-2 and Brahmanbaria-6 have been left vacant.
Meanwhile, in this election, Begum Khaleda Zia will contest from Bogra-7, Feni-1, and Dinajpur-3, Tarique Rahman from Bogra-6, and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir from Thakurgaon-1.
The list of candidates was finalized after considering central and local political coordination, field-level surveys, and the prevailing political situation.
