The Quantum Foundation has received special recognition for its significant contribution to voluntary blood donation activities in Bangladesh.
On Sunday morning, at a ceremony held in the lecture hall of the Super Specialized Hospital of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare honored Quantum Foundation during the National Voluntary Blood Donation and Posthumous Eye Donation Day 2025 inauguration program.
The chief guest, Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, presented the honorary crest to Rabia Nazreen, Coordinator of Quantum Foundation, on behalf of the organization.
Other organizations, including Sandhani, Badhan, the Red Crescent, Bangladesh Police Hospital, Rotary Club, and the Sandhani National Eye Donation Society, were also honored for their contributions to blood and eye donation initiatives.
Regular blood donors from Quantum — Mustafa Ashraf Siddiqui and Syeda Rabeya Bosri — received special recognition as the highest donors.
The event, held under the theme “Blood Donation Causes No Harm, Let Eyes Share the Light of Vision,” was supported by the Sandhani Central Council and the Sandhani National Eye Donation Society.
The ceremony was presided over by Md. Saidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Special guests included Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahinul Alam, Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU; Professor Dr. Md. Abu Zafar, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS); and Professor Dr. Nazmul Hossain, Director General of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME).
Also present were Professor Dr. Md. Fazlul Haque Kashem, President of the Sandhani National Eye Donation Society; Dr. Mohammad Monir Hossain, General Secretary; senior ministry officials, doctors, Sandhani members, and other distinguished guests.
Earlier in the day, a colorful rally was held from the National Martyrs’ Memorial to the Super Specialized Hospital in Shahbagh to mark the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation and Posthumous Eye Donation Day.
