Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed concern that both domestic and foreign major forces will attempt to sabotage the upcoming national parliamentary election. He said, “It won’t be minor—big forces will act. Sudden attacks may occur. This election will be challenging. But no matter how strong the storms are, we must overcome them.”
He made these remarks during a high-level coordination meeting held on Wednesday (29 October) in the capital ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election. Later, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam briefed journalists at the Foreign Service Academy.
The Press Secretary stated that the Chief Adviser warned that planned misinformation campaigns would emerge on social media before the election, including AI-generated images and videos. Therefore, any such content must be countered immediately to prevent its spread.
Additionally, he emphasized that to make the election smooth and festive, the public must be informed about voting rules, procedures at polling stations, and steps to take in case of disorder.
To this end, the Chief Adviser instructed the Election Commission and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs to produce more TVCs, documentaries, and videos and quickly release them on YouTube and social media so that the public can be prepared in advance.
