Popular actor and journalist Hasan Masud has been hospitalized in Dhaka after suffering a stroke. On Monday night (October 27), he was rushed to a hospital after suddenly experiencing severe headaches and convulsions. Following medical examinations, doctors confirmed that he had suffered an ischemic stroke along with a mild heart attack. He is currently under the care of neurologists, cardiologists, and the critical care unit.
According to hospital authorities, patients with this condition are usually kept under close observation for 48 to 72 hours, after which further treatment decisions are made based on their condition.
Once a household name in television dramas and films, Hasan Masud has been away from the entertainment industry for quite some time. Recently, after making a controversial remark about actress Hania Aamir, he said that he no longer wishes to return to acting and is instead looking for a regular job. In an interview before falling ill, he said, “I’m looking for a job now. It could be in journalism, administration, or any other field. Once I get a job, I’ll just disappear completely.”
Hasan Masud joined the Bangladesh Army in 1985 and retired in 1992 as a captain. Afterward, he began working as a sports journalist and served at BBC Bangla from 2004 to 2008. Leaving journalism, he entered the entertainment industry through Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s film Bachelor and later acted in Made in Bangladesh and many popular TV dramas.
Some of his most notable works include Houseful, Taxi Driver, FDC, Khunsuti, Graduate, Amader Songsar, and Goni Saheber Shesh Kichudin.
