The dengue situation in the country continues to worsen. In the last 24 hours (from 8 a.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday), six more people died from dengue fever, bringing the total number of deaths this year to 269. During the same period, 983 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country with dengue fever.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the information in its regular dengue update on Monday (October 27).
According to the report, among the patients admitted in the last 24 hours — 141 are from Barishal Division, 111 from Chattogram Division, 171 from areas outside Dhaka City, 227 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 133 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 62 from Khulna Division, and 41 from Mymensingh Division.
During the same period, 970 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery. So far this year, a total of 63,414 patients have recovered and been released from hospitals.
