Following the fire at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, security has been tightened in the Uttara area of Dhaka. Only cardholders are allowed entry, and no one else can access the area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner Md. Mahidul Islam provided this information to the media on Saturday (October 18) evening. He stated that over 5,000 police personnel are deployed to maintain law and order.
In addition to police from Uttara’s six precincts, personnel from the Army, Air Force, Navy, RAB, and BGB are working in coordination. The DC said, “No one is allowed entry without a card. We have covered the entire area with a security shield to prevent any disorder or unwanted incidents.
