Ahead of the July National Charter signing ceremony, the National Consensus Commission held a meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna. The meeting was chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday.
Present at the meeting were the Commission’s Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Safar Raj Hossain, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Dr. Md. Ayub Mia, and the Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haidar.
Also in attendance were National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman and Chief Secretary to the Chief Adviser M. Siraj Uddin Mia.
According to the interim government, preparations are underway to hold the July Charter signing ceremony at the South Plaza of the National Parliament on Friday.
Earlier in the evening, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the National Consensus Commission convened an emergency meeting with various political parties and alliances at the Foreign Service Academy, where final discussions regarding the charter signing were expected to take place.
