The price of soybean oil has risen again in the country. The price of bottled soybean oil has been increased by 6 Taka per liter, now set at 195 Taka. Loose soybean oil has gone up by 3 Taka, now priced at 177 Taka per liter. Additionally, the price of palm oil has been raised by 13 Taka per liter, reaching 163 Taka.
This information was announced on Monday (13 October) through a press release by the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association.
Earlier, last month, businesses had proposed a 10 Taka increase in bottled soybean oil prices during discussions with the government and the Ministry of Commerce, but the ministry approved only a 1 Taka increase. As a result, traders delayed announcing the price change. After a new meeting, the decision to revise the prices was finalized.
Moreover, the new price for a 5-liter bottle of soybean oil has been set at 945 Taka.
