Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, a delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a meeting with the Election Commission (EC). The meeting began around 12:15 p.m. on Monday (October 13) at the EC headquarters in the capital.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A.M.M. Nasir Uddin presided over the meeting, accompanied by four election commissioners and the EC secretary. The Jamaat delegation, led by Naib-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, included A.H.M. Hamidur Rahman Azad, Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar, and Matiur Rahman Akand.
According to sources, the discussion focused on election preparations, the proposed referendum system, and suggestions regarding national consensus, among other issues. Following the meeting, Jamaat is expected to brief the media formally.
