This year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results are likely to be published on October 16. The chairmen of all education boards reached a preliminary consensus on this date during a meeting of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee held on Thursday (October 9).
Speaking to the media on condition of anonymity, one of the board chairmen said that the proposal to publish the results on October 16 will be sent to the Ministry of Education. Once the ministry approves, the results of all education boards will be released simultaneously.
The written exams of the HSC and equivalent tests concluded on August 19, while the practical exams were held from August 21 to 31.
A total of 1,251,111 students participated in the examinations this year — including 618,015 male and 633,096 female students. The exams were conducted under 11 education boards across 2,797 centers nationwide.
According to the Public Examination Act, results must be published within 60 days after the completion of the written exams. Officials said the proposed date of October 16 falls well within that legal timeframe.
