Seven Bangladeshi nationals were killed in a road accident in Dukhum, Oman. All the victims were residents of Sarikat Union, Sandwip Upazila, Chattogram.
According to relatives, the victims were returning home by microbus after working at sea on Wednesday evening when the vehicle met with a serious accident and was completely wrecked. All seven died at the scene.
So far, the identities of three of the deceased have been confirmed:
Amin Soadagar, son of Ali Kobor Serang (Ward 2)
Arju, son of Shahidullah (Ward 4)
Roki, son of Ibrahim Mesturi (Ward 2)
Oman is a major destination for Bangladeshi migrant workers. After Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the country remains an important part of Bangladesh’s overseas labor market.
