Environmental, Forest and Climate Change Affairs Adviser of the interim government, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, has called on National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam to clarify his recent comment suggesting that some advisers are seeking a “safe exit.”
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday (October 8), Rizwana Hasan said, “I have never fled during any national crisis, and I will not do so in the future. Nahid Islam must make it clear who among the advisers wants a safe exit.”
She emphasized that the interim government is committed to ensuring a transparent and credible national election, adding that the government will provide the Election Commission (EC) with full cooperation to that end.
In response to a question, the adviser noted that participation of any political party in the upcoming polls will depend on legal matters and political decisions.
Earlier, in a televised interview, NCP convener Nahid Islam alleged that several advisers of the interim government have established links with various political parties and are considering a “safe exit” for themselves.
