Gold prices in Bangladesh have reached a new record high as the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced another increase in rates. The price of gold has risen by up to Tk 3,149 per bhori.
According to the new rate, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk 200,726 per bhori, the highest in the country’s history. Until Monday (October 6), gold was being sold at Tk 197,576 per bhori. The new prices will take effect from Tuesday (October 7).
In its statement, BAJUS said the adjustment was made considering the rise in the price of refined (pure) gold in the local market.
This marks yet another revision in gold prices this year, as BAJUS continues to align domestic rates with upward trends in the international market.
