Nurul Haque Nur, president of Gono Odhikar Parishad, is returning to the country this evening (Saturday) after receiving medical treatment in Singapore. The party’s central general secretary, Rashed Khan, confirmed that Nur will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6 p.m.
Media coordinator and senior council member Abu Hanif said that during his 12-day stay in Singapore, Nur underwent various medical tests. For advanced treatment, he had traveled to Singapore on September 22, accompanied by his personal physician, Associate Professor Dr. Sazzad Hossain Rasel of the Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
It may be recalled that on the night of August 29, Nur was seriously injured in a clash between leaders and activists of Jatiya Party (JaPa) and Gono Odhikar Parishad at Bijoynagar in the capital. After initial treatment in the country, doctors advised him to seek medical care abroad.
