In the past 24 hours, two more people have died from dengue, a mosquito-borne disease. This brings the total dengue deaths this year to 200. During the same period, 490 new patients were admitted to hospitals.
The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shared this information in a statement on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, two deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation, while Barisal division saw the highest number of new hospitalizations with 138 patients.
In addition, 100 patients were admitted in Dhaka division, 78 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 64 in Dhaka South, 60 in Chattogram, 28 in Mymensingh, and 22 in Rangpur.
Since January 1, the highest number of deaths have been recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation (95), followed by Barisal (32), Dhaka North (26), Chattogram (23), Rajshahi (10), Mymensingh (6), Khulna (5), and Dhaka (3).
