The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections for the Board of Directors are scheduled to be held on October 6.
However, ahead of the polls, Wednesday (October 1) marked the final day for candidates to withdraw their nominations. By the noon deadline, 16 director candidates, including former national team captain Tamim Iqbal, had withdrawn from the race.
From the Chattogram District Sports Association, Mir Helal Uddin withdrew his candidacy, leaving popular singer Asif Akbar as the sole candidate. As a result, he has been elected as a BCB director unopposed.
Similarly, Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury has also been elected unopposed from the Chattogram Divisional Sports Association.
