The Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has called on leading U.S. companies to expand their investments in Bangladesh. He made the appeal on Wednesday (September 24) while addressing the U.S.-Bangladesh Executive Business Roundtable held in New York.
The event, titled “Advancing Reform, Resilience and Growth”, was organized by the U.S.-Bangladesh Business Council (USBBC).
Later, in a press briefing, the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, said Dr. Yunus urged top American companies such as MetLife, Chevron, and Excelerate to seize emerging opportunities for fresh investments in Bangladesh.
Six Bangladeshi politicians who are accompanying the Chief Adviser on his U.S. trip were also present at the meeting, where they were introduced to prominent American business leaders.
The Chief Adviser arrived in New York on Monday to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He is scheduled to return home on October 2.
