Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman has left Dhaka for a four-day official visit to Malaysia. He departed for Kuala Lumpur on Monday morning (22 September), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
During the visit, he will attend the Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference, jointly organized by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and the Malaysian Defense Force. The conference, being held in Kuala Lumpur, will bring together army chiefs from the Indo-Pacific region to discuss strengthening regional friendship and cooperation, addressing common security challenges, and adopting coordinated measures during crises.
Experts believe the visit will further strengthen bilateral ties and regional cooperation between the Bangladesh Army and other armies in the Indo-Pacific.
The Army Chief is scheduled to return home on 27 September after completing the official visit.
